Yesterday, as I'm sure you know, was Evacuation Day (yea, and you thought it was St. Patrick's Day, pshhh) (for those of you who don't know, it's the day those dirty Redcoats left our shores) which means that state workers in Suffolk County got the day off. Which further means that people who happen to work in state buildings got yesterday off.
I had yesterday off and I did not have one drop of alcohol.
It was a beautiful sunny day. I slept in, I went to breakfast, I went shopping, I went to a movie, I went to the grocery store, I took a leisurely stroll through both downtown Boston and quaint little Winthrop, I made a failed attempt to get a Shamrock Shake because apparently not every McDonald's carries them, which is total crap. But it's ok, instead I had ice cream for lunch at the movies. Which I realized later was an ice cream cookie sandwich (you see the issue there?) but I'm giving myself a pass because a) I didn't realize it was a sandwich at the time (I ordered the 'cookie thing' and pointed so you see I wasn't even thinking it and it was an honest mistake and b) it was (sort of) a holiday.
I'M NOT PERFECT, DON'T JUDGE ME.
Oh, sorry. Sometimes I get carried away. It was a lovely day off, I wish I had another one!
